Release Your Thoughts

Hello again… Another week has passed and whether you know it or not you’ve grown as a person and become stronger. Just from facing what life has thrown at you and continuing to ride the rollercoaster.

This week I decided to try and do some drawing, to learn a new skill. I never have had that drawing touch but, surprising what magic watching a video tutorial can do. You can see my creations below.

Have a go yourself… find a video to watch and copy as I did. Let your mind focus, explore and engage a new experience, releasing your thoughts in a creative way. Focusing in the moment and the here and now. If not, why not do some doodling?

I also learnt another song on the keyboard, which you can listen to, this time, Everglow by Coldplay.

Have you ever considered starting a journal?

From experience, it is a great way to help release your thoughts. You can jot down anything bothering you as well as positives from your day... daily, weekly or whenever suits you. No matter when, it is important to remember that there is no right or wrong... whatever you are feeling is OK. No one has to see what you’ve written either, it is just best to get things out, rather than keeping it all to yourself. Then after you can decide whether you want to keep it in a box, diary or even rip it up?

Simply writing has been a lifeline for me, A way to escape my thoughts and process everything going on, through all the confusion involved. A way to let go of negative thoughts. A way to clear my mind and understand the triggers to my anxiety. But also a way to reflect and question whether the things I’m thinking are actually necessary, helpful or true.

Other ways that can help clear your mind include exercise, listening to music and meditation. As well as the other self-care ideas, I said in a previous blog.

At the end of the day, we all need to learn to appreciate the little things in life, as one day we’ll look back and realise they were the big things. No matter what you are going through in life, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Don’t give up!

Be your own best friend and do things that you need, can and love. Take each day as it comes and if you remember one thing from this, be it this…
